Flex@Campus – My experience
Before even starting to share my experience, i would like to give a brief introduction to “Flex@Campus”.
What is Flex@Campus?
Flex@Campus is a bootcamp like event designed by Adobe to target the student community. This is a great initiative by Adobe to create awareness about Flash platform among students. Flex@campus is mainly targeted at final year students of an engineering college. It is a one day event, where students are exposed to Web 2.0, RIA, Flash Platform. The most important section of the program is “Lab session”. For the first time in their life, students get their hands dirty with Flex.
Chennai edition of the program is organized by RIA-RUI society. Chennai Flex user group provides the technical assistance to the society.
So far at Flex@Campus:
I have been part of 3 programs so far. I can only say that all the three has been extremely successful. Personally i learn a lot out of these programs. It helped me to improve my presentation skills, communication skills, social networking skills, etc.
First time without Ananth:
For those of you who do not know about Ananth, please check his profile. Ananth is not just my mentor, but a true big brother. I can talk a lot about him, but this is not the article to do it. I will dedicate a separate article for him.
So my first Flex@Campus was at Rajalakshmi Engineering College. Interestingly i had to be the lead speaker for that event. I was a bit nervous as i did not prepare well. My job was to just talk and talk for nearly an hour. I am good at doing a hands-on session, but not at doing a theoretical session. The personal outcome of the event was “disappointment”.
So then i decided to change the presentation and prepare well for further events. I did a decent job in the next two events at Dr.MGR University. Now i am a confident speaker and thanks to Flex@Campus for giving me this opportunity.
Inviting speakers:
I truly believe that most of you can benefit from this program. RIA-RUI society is looking for more speakers for Flex@Campus. Please get in touch with them and checkout their package.
